The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is on a mission to teach young people and adults that the past is still relevant. This museum offers an in-depth exploration of the life of President John F. Kennedy, his assassination in 1963, and the influence he still has on the world. Founded in 1989, the museum has hosted more than 6 million visitors, and relies on 400 photographs, 45 minutes of documentary films, and countless artifacts from the 1960s to create a “living” landmark of our country’s history. Visit for special exhibits like A Photographer's Story: Bob Jackson and the Kennedy Assassination go deep into specific aspects of the assassination. The permanent exhibits are all-encompassing in scope, and the museum also plays host to lectures, panel discussions, presentations, and special exhibits throughout the year. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza helps visitors, particularly those who were not alive before JFK’s death, understand the assassination and its influence on American culture as well as the world. For a truly educational experience, visit the museum today for a step back in time.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens: Natural Oasis

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Since opening in 1984, the Dallas Arboretum has cultivated 66 acres of gardens, flowers, and wildlife with a goal of researching floral life. In keeping with that mission, the Arboretum has a “test” garden completely devoted to growing flowers and plants new to the area to see if they can survive the brutal Texas summers. The Botanical Gardens are as gorgeous as they are well-maintained. Offering many educational events, from a children’s camp to guided tours and classes for adults, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens also hosts an outdoor concert series that guests can attend while enjoying a picnic dinner. The gardens are just perfect for weddings, photo shoots, corporate events, or just a lovely walk through the flowers. No matter the time of year, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are always in season.
